QUESTION: SWIFFER AS "INSECT SWATTER" - IT IS GREAT FOR SWATTING SPIDERS ON CEILINGS/ WALLS. HAS ANYONE ELSE USED IT FOR THAT PURPOSE?
• I use the Swiffer with the Dry Cloth to sort of sweep the ceiling and walls to get all those nasty cobwebs off. It
• Great suggestion~ Good for cobwebs also!
• Great works great
• I don't see why you couldn't use it this way as long as it is a clean one.
• Yes, I keep my sweeper sheet in my sweeper so when I see small, crawling creepy things I immediately can swat them before they disappear.
• I mean.... You should not kill spiders anyway. Most common house spiders are harmless to people and will actually keep away roaches and other really bad bugs. 13% of all spider species are jumping spiders. Out of 5,000 described jumping spider species only 3 are harmful to people and none of them live in north america. The other common house spiders are daddy long legs (which are actually not spiders at all), yellow sac spiders, Black house spiders, american house spiders, southern house spiders, tiny house spiders. None of them I repeat none of them are a threat to humans. Spiders are one of the most misunderstood creatures in the animal kingdom. Statistically you are never more than three feet from a spider at any given time but only when we see them do we have to squish them. For what? What threat does something 800 times smaller than you pose? If you see a spider even if it's a black widow or a brown recluse or a hobo just leave it alone. If you really feel in danger for your life take a cup and piece of paper catch it and move it outside. We should treat all life as precious no matter how small. I am a macro photographer who personally loves bugs so my view is bias but non the less please respect our little neighbors. Thank you :)

QUESTION: MY OLD SWIFFER HAS SMALL HOLES TO TUCK THE CLEANING CLOTH INTO. IT ONLY STAYS IN PLACE A FEW MINUTES, THEN ONE SIDE COMES LOOSE. DOES THIS HAPPEN WITH
• Yep! ;) frustrating..
• This does not happen to me. I puss the cloth into the gripper holes. You do need to make sure the cloth is centered on the swiffer so that it can be pushed into all 4 holes on the top of the end piece.
• Thats strange. This does not happen to me. It didn't happen on my old swiffer either..

QUESTION: I HAVE AN OLDER SWIFFER - IT'S FRUSTRATING TO USE BECAUSE IT SWIVELS TOO FAR, FLIPPING ONTO ITS EDGE WITH EVERY STROKE. DO THE NEW ONES DO THIS TOO?
• No,not at all. I'm very pleased with the one I've purchased from Amazon. It does a great job with dry or wet clothes. I love it, I have no complaints!
• The new one has a better handle and swiffer head. It does not flip and I find the length of staff with a comfortable knob to hold onto makes it so much easier to use in odd places. Good luck with a new one.
• I had an older one that I recently replaced with the newer model. Both the new one and the older one did that, but I found that it usually meant I needed to change the pad, it wasn't damp enough any longer. I lover my newer one because it is longer, not any where near as short as my first one was.
• Yes - they are all terrible and don't pick up anything - I got a $20 lightweight floor vacuum that works awesome!!!

QUESTION: FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO USED BOTH, HOW DOES SWIFFER WETJET COMPARE TO A SPIN MOP? HEARD SWIFFER GETS PRICEY OVERTIME.
• I absolutely love mine. I can get a lot of use of mine. The swifter picks up better than a spin mop. The money is worth it in the long run
• It is convenient and easy to use than a spin mop. It depends how you look at the money spent. I think it worth it by saving some of my time. I suggest you can buy the kit and give it a try.

QUESTION: CAN WE ATTACH REUSABLE CLOTH(SOME RUG AVAILABLE AT HOME) FOR WET MOPPING?
• yes, it shouldn't be any more difficult than the original cloth as long as they are not any thicker than the original ones. the tabs that hold down the cloth ate a little flimsy so be careful not to break them if the reusable cloth is thicker than the original ones.
• I would not do so. The cloths are very thin and are pre-moistened with a special cleaning solution. A rug would be much too thick. I don't see how you could attach it using the grippers on the sweeper.
• I routinely attach a microfiber cloth for wet mopping and a white cloth rag for drying. Does it fit perfectly-- no. Does it work-- yes. There are wet mopping cloths from swiffer but they are scented, which I loathe.
• No. The dry & wet cloths are really thin. I doubt there is anything re-usable that would work. If you want to wet mop, I would use a good old fashioned mop.
#Swiffer_Sweeper_2_In_1

QUESTION: CAN THE DRY CLOTH BE MADE WET TO MOP FLOOR USING A CLEANER SOLUTION?
• No, you have to purchase the wet cloths, I believe, though I've never tried to make the dry ones wet. It might work.
• Yes. You can spray the floor and mop it with the dry cloth. I wouldn't recommend wetting the dry cloth to clean the floor.
• Spray floor, not the mop.
• Haven't tried wetting the cloth. They do make wet cloths to fit this model.

QUESTION: HOW EFFECTIVE IS SWIFFER ON HARDWOOD FLOORS? CAN YOU APPLY A GLOSS USING A SWIFFER?
• It works great on hardwood floors, and the wet clothes that come with it are a great addition. I would not use it to apply a gloss to the floor, it is not a sponge so the gloss would not stick to it long enough for you to place on the floor. I just use a simple $5 sponge mop from walmart to apply a gloss to my hardwoods and that seems to work the best.
• Swifter can make your wood floor shine on their own. However, one can also spray Bona and get a shinier result.
• I have both tile and wood floors, and the Swiffer does a great job. As for applying a gloss, I would imagine that you could use your own cloth with product. The dry Swiffer cloths are meant to trap and hold dirt, not to apply any kind of finish. My wood floors have a permanent finish, so I have no need to apply anything else. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

QUESTION: I NEED TO CLEAN PANELING AND WALLBORD PRIOR TO PAINTING. WOULD THIS WORK?
• I didn't think it worked well for my floors. I would not attempt to use it on wood paneling especially wet.
• I would think not since it is designed for flooring not wood paneling.
• yes
• sure its very light ... nice long handle ... have some extra pads on hand because they might tear if the surface has some rough edges

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE PACKAGING WHEN SHIPPED?
• it was very light 4.9 x 2.2 x 12.4 inches ; 1 pounds mine came in original box very secured no damages.
• The box was not "fitted" it was larger than the products I ordered refills plus the mop together but it was still a small box I am sorry I really don't know the dimensions of the box. But I can tell you it wouldn't fit in a mail box
• As of April 2014, mine came in a huge box that was way too big, about 5.5x10x40. Yes, 40 inches long. Apparently, this kit is not like the one I already own. The one I own has a 3-piece detachable post. This new one I got is one piece post that you can pull to extend it until it locks in place. This different design of the post is probably a good thing for some, but definitely not a favorable feature to me. I prefer the "compact" size post where I can customize the height of the product.

QUESTION: I AM UNCLEAR ON HOW TO EXACTLY ATTACH THE PADS-IT DID NOT COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS.
• On the handle side there are grips in each of the 4 corners; the pads are tucked securely in those grips.
• Hello consumer. I too have this type swiffer. Turn the mop head attached to the backside. Here you find holes. This where you stuff pads. Pretty cool?
• They velcro to the head
#Swiffer_Sweeper

QUESTION: DO I HAVE TO KEEP BUYING AND BUYING PADS TO CLEAN WITH THE SWIFFER?
• Yes, they come in dry or wet.
• Dear Stacey, Any good Dollar Store or Dollar Tree has pre-moistended floor wipes that are 100% compatible with the Swiffer. That's what I use. Or, like the old Italian ladies years ago, a flannel raf with Simple Green on it. Always looking for ways to save! ddb
• If you prefer the Swiffer refills you can always buy the refill packs. If you prefer a reusable alternative, you can purchase machine washable, microfiber cloths that fit the Swiffer head perfectly.
• Yes you do, unless you get a reusable pad that you wash yourself.
• Of course you do. they are easy to remove, just slip them off and replace. They look like small soft cotton fiber sheets. They lift the dirt. Throw them away when too dirty. They are great. Bonnie

QUESTION: IS BOTH THE BASE AND HANDLE PLASTIC?
• Yes, the base and handle are plastic but the rod is metal. So far so good with all the parts and I'm not gentle when I scrub the floors.
• Yes. It is a sturdy plastic.
• Yes, it is a sturdy plastic.
• Yes, everything is plastic
• Yes. The pole is metal.

QUESTION: ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PUSH THE EXTENSION HANDLE BACK TO THE SHORTER FORM? IT'S TOO LONG FOR MY MOM TO USE EFFECTIVELY. THANKS
• You can remove one of the pieces of the handle. You push the little buttons on the sides so they are completely in - hold down both buttons (one button on each side) at the same time and then pull up - that should release the piece of the handle. You can pull out the middle piece and not use it but then it might not be long enough. The handle isnt adjustable so other than pulling out one of the pieces, I dont think there is anything else you can do to make it shorter.
• The first instructions on how to make the swiffer handle shorter are exactly correct. Look for the little buttons on the side of the silver handle and push them in at the same time.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH TILES?CAUSE IM TIRED OF SWEEPING MY HOUSE /:
• I use the covers for the Bissell Steam Mop and clean my tile floors
• Yes it does.
• it does pick up quite a lot of dust/hair but leaves, sand, pebbles... that you will still have to sweep.
#Swiffer_Sweeper

QUESTION: I'M TRYING TO DISSEMBLE THIS BUT CAN'T SEEM TO SEPARATE THE MIDDLE SECTION FROM THE HANDLE SECTION. IS THERE SOME SORT OF TRICK TO IT?
• Try pressing the metal ball thingy and then when it's pressed down, you should be able to easily pull it off. Wiggling t a little may help.
• I don't think it's supposed to be disassembled. Shipped with the 2 handle sections compressed, once pulled out to full length, it's supposed to remain that way.
• based on the answers given, there may be 2 styles. The one I had was in separate sections that you press the ball to disassemble. Sounds like there may be another style that is one piece that pulls to a full length.

QUESTION: DOES THIS MOP COME FOLDED, LIKE CAN I PACK IT IN A SUITCASE TO TRAVEL WITH?
• Yes, it is folded in a box like 16"x8"x1"
• Yes. The Mop comes in a small box. Perfect for travel!
• Hi Layla, this mop actually doesn't fold but it detaches into 5 different pieces. I guarantee it will fit in a suitcase. The box that it comes in is pretty small and it will also fit in your suitcase. I hope this answers any questions that you may have had. I personally love this product on my wood floors because it disinfects the area, smells nice, and scrubs away dirt and grime. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't have carpet floors.
• No

QUESTION: IS THE GREEN PART THAT ATTACHES TO THE MOP (NOT THE HANDLE) PLASTIC? HAS ANYONE HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THAT PART BREAKING
• If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about where the mop head attaches to the handle/mop stick. Yes, the swivel mount is plastic, on both the mop body and mop stick. I have used the mop twice a week since October 2013, and have had no problems or symptoms indicative of potentially breaking.
• Mine brooke after six months of purchase and have not be able to find a replacement therefore yes is plastic and yes its problem. i avoid use the mop at this point because its too low to use i do love the mop!

QUESTION: ARE PEOPLE USING THE WET PAD TO CLEAN HARD WOOD, OR JUST ON NON-WOOD SURFACES?
• I've using them on hardwood floors for over a year, they work well.
• Sometimes I use wet (very little wet!) pad for hard wood....
• We use both on our wood floor.
#Swiffer_Sweeper_Review

QUESTION: CAN THESE PADS BE USED SAFELY ON PERGO FLOORING?
• I do not know, sorry, I do not have ergo flooring in my house. I would be in shock if they couldn't... but I bet if you went to the companies website it would say. Its just a guess, but I would say yes. I rarely use the wet ones.. I tend to use the dry ones. In all honesty, I have a maid, so I am not certain what all she uses in what rooms... but I use the dry a lot when she is not here .. and the wet in the kitchen and bathrooms.. but she comes twice a week.
• Yes if its a Pergo laminate. I'm not sure I would use it on a real hardwood consistently.
• Yes

• The length is approx, 40.5 inches from the pad to the green handle.. So this is not a taller one.
• The Height Of Mine Is 4 Feet Which Is Approximately 48 Inches. I Luv Mine. It is very easy to use. I have Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia and a very bad lower lumbar problem in my back and this helps because I do not have to bend over and also I just picked up a box of the wet cloths they are terrific. I truly believe this will be good for you. Robin

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SWIFFER SWEEPER IN THE STARTER KIT AND THE TWO IN ONE. THEY BOTH APPEAR TO ACCEPT WET AND DRY PADS. THANKS
• I think they are similar the 2 in one is the starter it comes with the pads to start a person and the other you just buy it and use the same stuff just don't have the extras in it.
• I don't know. I just thought that the 2 in 1 was a good idea for my floors that seem to collect a lot of dust. so I dust and then put on the wet pads which removes the spots of anything I have dropped.

• the lesser one is dry cleaning like a broom.the other one is with a spray cleaner you need judge what u need. Both are excellent.
• Nothing. They are still the same plastic frame. Maybe a little wider. But I would just get the cheaper option.
• I couldn't figure that out either. They are not very good at explaining the differences, so I went with the $10.99 option.
• I believe you get more extra pads.

• This isn't an electric sweeper. So no, there's no charger.
• It's not electric so there's no need for one.
#Swiffer_Sweeper_Review

QUESTION: WHY DO THE HANDLES BREAK SO OFTEN?
• I have found that the handles do not break, but the foam pad onto which you put the duster cloth wears out and comes off, so that the cloth will not stay on without using a couple of rubber bands to hold it one ... then it is not effective.
• The handle snapped on my Home Health Aid when she was using it this week. It's only been used less than 20 times! I'm going to try to super glue it. Darned if I'll invest in another one and only get less than 2 dozen uses out of it!
